About NACMATE
NACMATE is a practice tool for international medical graduates preparing for the Medical Council of Canada's NAC Examination. It exists to solve one specific problem: finding someone to practise with. Time zones do not line up, a study partner cancels, the two of you are at different levels, and nobody is free at eleven at night before the exam.
The idea is that a practice partner should never be the constraint. You should be able to run a station whenever you have eleven minutes, and get feedback organized the way the exam organizes it.
What we have built
A catalogue of stations written to the shape of the real exam: a brief, a standardized patient, a described physical examination, and an examiner's questions, with feedback mapped to the competencies the NAC Examination assesses. 112 of the 154 stations we have adapted are open to practise, each running eleven minutes like a station in the examination, and we add more as they clear our checks. Every account is credited 3 free stations, and credit packs are not open for purchase, so write to us if you run out. The station catalogue lists all of it, and the exam guide covers how the examination itself is structured.
How we handle exam information
Every factual claim we publish about the NAC Examination is checked against the Medical Council of Canada's own published material, and we do not publish figures we cannot source there. Where the MCC's documentation does not answer a question, we say so rather than filling the gap. Getting this wrong would mislead candidates about a real examination, which is a worse outcome than an incomplete page.
Every case starts from material a physician wrote. Our adaptation of it for Canadian practice is generated, then cross-checked by three independent model passes. Anything a majority cannot confirm, or that any pass flags as unsafe, is withheld rather than published.
No physician has reviewed the content. The physician who wrote the source case has never seen our adaptation of it. Practise the encounter on it, and keep a clinical reference open for the medicine.
Not affiliated with the MCC
NACMATE is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with the Medical Council of Canada. The NAC Examination is the MCC's examination; we are a third-party preparation tool and nothing on this site comes from or is approved by the MCC.
